STAT EMS, Inc is a chartered EMS Explorer Post with the Boy Scouts of America and identified as Explorer Post #500. Age groups of 14 – 20 years old are invited to be a part of this program throughout Genesee, Shiawassee and Lapeer County’s schools.
We would like to invite you to participate in our Exploring program. Exploring is a division of Learning for Life and provides an opportunity for you and students from other schools in the area to become acquainted with emergency medical professions through emergency medical training, guest speakers, hands-on activities, and ride-along program.
Our group meets every other week on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. throughout the school year, and in addition to our regular meetings, there will be activities with other Explorer Posts from our area. Explorers work side by side with Paramedics and EMT’s to learn the skills necessary to perform their jobs. Explorers are a great asset to the STAT EMS service. |

Ride Along Opportunities
Explorer members will be an integrated part of STAT EMS by having the opportunity to ride along with crews and gain front line, hands on experience. STAT Explorers work with the Paramedics as an active part of the patient care team. Members learn how to properly complete call reports and documentation, how to maintain and use EMS equipment, and how to properly care for patients through actual patient contact by helping the crew with the patient. We make sure all our members are familiar with equipment placement on the ambulance, and make sure they are comfortable with assisting the paramedics while riding. The Explorer members also play a big part in special event coverage and they assist with first aid coverage for routine stand-by’s for the Operations Department. |
